If you are proficient in Final Cut Pro 7 and are considering the move to Adobe Premiere Pro CS 5, then this class is for you! You will learn how various editorial techniques translate from Final Cut Pro to Premiere Pro as well as the subtle and not so subtle differences in the every day tasks and workflows facing editors between Final Cut Pro 7 and Adobe Premiere Pro CS 5.
Premiere Pro is Adobe’s leading video-editing tool that offers cross-platform, robust, and efficient workflows. It’s perfect for editors looking for native Post-production workflows across a broad range of formats, which integrate seamlessly with other high end editing tools, including the ability to import sequence files from Final Cut Pro 7 projects.
The introduction to Adobe Premiere Pro covers the basics of the user interface along with capturing video, importing media, organising bins, time line options, 3-point editing, transitions and exporting back to tape.
The emphasis throughout this introduction is on practical exercises and examples. These exercises will cover project management issues, and identify a range of digital video formats from SD to HD and their workflows. Delegates will work with audio, fine-tuning edits, creating transitions and outputting work for broadcast, the web or other delivery platforms.

Tapeless, and tape-based workflows
Codecs and Compression Settings
Importing XML sequence files from FCP7
Media management
Timeline editing including three-point edits
Applying effects and transitions
Creating titles
Audio fundamentals, including OMF output for integration with other Audio software tools including Pro Tools
Outputting to tape
Tapeless multi-screen output encoding to a number of native formats

Each student has their own workstation for the practical parts of the course and can discuss any specific areas of interest they may have towards the end of the day with the tutor.
